DKT International is a social marketing organization whose core mission is the provision of safe and affordable options for family planning and HIV/AIDS prevention. DKT International is one of the largest private providers of family planning and reproductive health products in the developing world, with a presence in over 50 countries. As an innovative social enterprise, DKT is constantly seeking new ways to meet consumer and healthcare providers’ needs for family planning and reproductive health products and services.

OVERVIEW

DKT Uganda seeks to engage an experienced individual consultant to strengthen its visual communication and digital presence through high-quality graphic design, digital content creation, and strategic social media management. The consultant will translate DKT’s brand, marketing, and program priorities into engaging and culturally relevant content across print and digital platforms, support the implementation of digital campaigns, manage online engagement, and use performance data to improve reach and impact. The consultant will ensure timely, consistent, and brand-aligned creative output that supports consumer engagement and product uptake in Uganda.

Scope of Work

2.2 Digital & Social Media Management

  • Platform Strategy: Manage DKT Uganda’s official social media presence (Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.). Develop and execute a monthly content calendar that aligns with broader marketing objectives.
  • Community Management: Engage directly with the online community by responding to inquiries, moderating comments, and fostering constructive conversations about reproductive health, modern contraception, and social norms.
  • Digital Campaign Execution: Implement targeted digital advertising campaigns, manage influencer partnerships, and ensure all digital content is optimized for specific platforms to drive product uptake (e.g., LARC methods).
  • Analytics & Optimization: Track performance against key KPIs (reach, engagement, conversion, cost-per-acquisition). Provide timely, data-driven reports to the regional team to optimize future digital efforts.

2.4 Required experience & skills

  • Experience: 3+ years of combined experience in graphic design and digital/social media marketing, preferably for mass-market or health-focused brands.
  • Technical Proficiency:
    • Design: Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud  (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)/Affinity Suite, Canva/Adobe Express
    • Video and Media Creation: CapCut
    • Digital: Deep understanding of Workflow & Digital Asset Management (DAM), Trello, social media management tools, Meta Business Suite, Google Analytics, and ad-buying platforms
  • Communication: Exceptional copywriting, editing, and proofreading skills; able to translate complex health information into clear, approachable, and engaging language (English and Luganda proficiency required).
  • Business Acumen: Ability to work methodically under tight deadlines, prioritize competing tasks, and maintain high attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
  • Cultural Competency: Strong understanding of the Ugandan market, social dynamics, and the specific barriers surrounding reproductive health.
