Job Title:  Marketing Intern

Reports to: Business Development & Sales Consultant / Regional Brand Manager

Working Conditions: Office

Basis of Engagement:  6 Months Contract

Location:  Lusaka, Zambia

JOB SUMMARY

To learn and gain practical experience on the job by supporting the Marketing team in the delivery of services efficiently and effectively.

Key Relationships

  • External– DKT vendors/suppliers and marketing agencies
  • Internal– Across the organization maintain effective communication with all departments, especially with Procurement, Sales, Programs, Admin and Finance

Role & responsibilities

Including but not limited to;

  • Assist with general administrative tasks, which may include updating marketing databases and organizing materials for events
  • Support the Business Development/Sales Consultant in preparing purchase requisitions
  • Monitor and track marketing materials inventory while liaising with the procurement department
  • Maintain accurate records of issued materials to programs and sales team for activities and events
  • Assist in planning and execution of marketing, sales and programs events and promotions
  • Provide support for virtual and in-person events
  • Contribute fresh ideas that can enhance the brand’s standing
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet marketing needs

Key Performance Indicators:

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Timeliness in preparation of purchase requests, marketing materials for events and promotions and related reports
  • Accuracy of inventory postings and samples records

Qualification, skills & competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree  in Marketing, Communications or a related field – completed in the last two (2) years, or be in their final year and available for full-time Internship engagement.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and familiarity with marketing software and social media platforms.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to multitask and a strong attention to detail.
  • A proactive attitude and a passion for learning about marketing.
